Last September, our Information Services Librarian Mark Puterbaugh, successfully wrote a grant application and was awarded funds from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Middle Atlantic Region (NNLM/MAR). These funds went toward the purchase of tablets and e-readers with the goal of creating ebooks on nursing that worked across mobile technologies. You can learn more about the grant by visiting our blog post from September 17, 2012- https://warnerlibeu.wordpress.com/2012/09/17/library-awarded-technology-improvement-grant-from-the-national-network-of-libraries-of-medicine-middle-atlantic-region-nnlmmar/
In May, the grant period ended. We’ll have a future post from a guest blogger about how and what ebooks were created from this grant. Now that the project is complete, we can use the technology in another aspect of the library. We are excited to announce that starting at the end of this month, we will be circulating e-readers and tablets!
- 2 Kindle e-readers
- 2 Nook e-readers
- 1 Samsung tablets
- 2 Kindle Fire tablets
- 1 Blackberry tablet
- 1 Netbook
We’ll be rolling out the various devices through the month of November. So make sure to stop by the library and see what is newly available! It’s a great way to test new technologies.
