2014 Jonathan Orr Essay contest

2014 Jonathan Orr Essay ContestAre you an undergraduate at Eastern? Then take this opportunity to enter Friends of the Library’s annual Jonathan Orr Essay Contest and a shot at winning some money! This year’s question is:

In his books Red Letter Revolution (2012) and Red Letter Christians (2008), Dr. Tony Campolo suggests that the world of theology, Christian living, and global issues might take a different direction if Christians commit  to lives according to  “what Christ really said.” How does this principle guide your future goals as a graduate of Eastern University?

The essay guidelines are:

  1. We will be looking for well-crafted, grammatically correct essays with proper spelling.
  2. Essay length must be at least 400 words and must not exceed 700 words.
  3. Essays must be the original work of the applicant. Plagiarism in any form will result in disqualification. Please cite any and all resources.

Please electronically submit your essay to Andrea Reed at areed@eastern.edu.
Include your name, year, major and contact information.
Entries will be judged by a panel from Friends of the Library.

Winners will be notified by April 5th (via email) and will be invited to the Friends’ “Red Letter Evening with Tony Campolo” on April 10th where the prizes will be awarded.

Good luck!
